Last updated 3 October 2026

Pehle Socho (“we”) is a free app that turns the local weather forecast into an estimate of how it could affect your work and income, and suggests what to do. It is run from Jaipur, India by Karan Bindal (Bindal Infotech). This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect and why

InformationWhy we need it
Mobile number or email addressTo log you in with a one-time code or password and keep your profile safe on any phone. We do not send marketing messages.
Name or nicknameTo greet you in the app. A nickname is fine.
Type of work, city or area, indoor or outdoor work, working hoursTo find the weather risk that matters to your work and the hours you work.
Approximate daily income, daily stock, savings, fixed costs, whether you have a loan (all optional ranges you choose)To express the effect of weather in rupees, as ranges. These are never shared with lenders or anyone else.
Location (only if you allow it)To get the forecast for where you are. Your phone uses the exact location to fetch the forecast; our server only stores it rounded to about 10 km.
What you mark on suggested actions, and what you report happened afterwards (sales, stock loss, hours)To show your progress and to improve future estimates.
Questions you ask in “Ask”To answer you. See “Ask and AI” below.
VoiceWhen you tap the microphone, speech is turned into text by your phone's own speech service (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone, or your browser). We receive only the text, never audio recordings.
App usage events (for example “risk card viewed”, “action marked done”), crash reports, notification tokenTo keep the app working, measure whether it helps, and send the morning brief if you turn it on. These do not include your name, number or income.

Ask and AI

All risk levels and rupee figures are calculated by our own fixed rules from the forecast and your profile. When you ask a question, the question and a summary of today's forecast and your work profile (work type, area, income and stock ranges, but not your name, number or email) are sent to Anthropic's Claude language model only to phrase the answer in plain language. Anthropic processes this on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. If the AI's answer contains any number our rules did not produce, we discard it and show our own answer instead.

Who processes your data for us

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with banks, lenders, insurers, employers or government bodies. We show no advertising and use no advertising trackers.

Institutions and anonymous statistics

If you separately choose “Share anonymous statistics” in Data & privacy, your work type, area and risk levels may be counted in group totals shown to programme partners. Groups smaller than 10 people are never shown, and no names, numbers or incomes are ever included. This is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep your profile and records while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, estimates, actions, outcomes, usage events and your login are permanently erased from our database immediately. Anonymous usage counts that cannot identify you may be kept. Encrypted backups held by our providers roll over within 30 days.

Your rights and choices

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Logins use Firebase Authentication. Our database cannot be read directly from the app; only our server, after checking your login, can read or write your records. Access by our team is limited to what is needed to run the service.

Children

Pehle Socho is meant for adults who run a business or earn a livelihood. It is not directed at children under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
